Featured link of the week: Random Whim

I think this will be the last week I do featured links. See, the thing is that I don't surf that much any more. I tend to visit the same few sites over and over, so it's hard for me to do a weekly collection of links like this. Case in point: all the featured links this week are sites that have turned up recently in my referrer log. This is what we call "creative bankruptcy."

Vanessa grabs the top spot by virtue of have posted a link to me more recently than the others. I became acquainted with Vanessa on Mighty Big TV, met her face-to-face at the MBTV Buffycon in February of this year, and just last month I saw her again on my way up to New York to visit my friend Leigh. I'm going to see her again at another MBTV Buffycon in June. Three meetings in six months-- in Bizarro World, that means we're engaged or something.

Vanessa has been doing the online journal thing a few months longer than me, and in the spirit of full disclosure I need to admit having stolen a couple of ideas from her. I added "current" and "archive" links to my navigational bar after seeing her do it. And her entry about being listed on Yahoo! inspired me to submit my site too.

Other people who link to me:

  • Drew's Brave New World - Scully's site is still in its infancy, but there's some good stuff there. Her most recent essay, about her various travel-related adventures, is very funny.
  • Montykins - Monty Ashley was one of the first people to link to Blue Armadillo, and I'd like to think that he linked here because he thought the site had some merit and not just because I shamelessly flattered him in my official first entry. My guess is it had more to do with the latter though.
  • Uncle Bob's Diary o' Chuckles - I am a member of Uncle Bob's Army. I don't know what it means or what my responsibilities are, but I'm pretty pleased about it nonetheless.
  • Yahoo! -  No, I've never heard of it either, but I've been getting a fairly large number of hits from it. I recommend the Online Journals and Diaries.
